Follow Line Indicator

FollowLine is a powerful VertexFX indicator based on the Bollinger Bands (BB) indicator.

The Bollinger Bands indicator is a powerful indicator to identify trading ranges. However it cannot identify how far the trend will continue, or when the trend will reverse. The FollowLine indicator employs a combination of Bollinger Bands, Moving Average and Average True Range to identify start and reversal of trend with minimal lag.

CCI Filter Indicator

CCI Filter Indicator is a VertexFX indicator that provides important information on the trend. It is cyclical in nature and follows price closely.
CCI Filter VTL indicator consists of the normal Commodity Channel Index – CCI indicator and the Moving Average of the CCI itself.
When CCI has bottomed out below zero level and is rising gradually, it implies that the market is rising and is bullish.
On the contrary, when the CCI has peaked and is falling gradually, it implies that the market is falling and is bearish.

xPoints Indicator

xPoints indicator is a VertexFX client-side indicator that predicts the possible reversal points. The concept behind this indicator is based on the fact that sometime before the turn of the price there are so-called bars X-points, in which rate=(High-Low)/MathAbs(Close-Open) more than 1. If rate more than 1 and low touches the lower border of the channel (price increasing is possible) or High touches the upper border of the channel (price decreasing is possible), then the indicator gives a signal to buy or sell.
To filter false signals, the indicator analyzes the bar following the X-point to detect at least small price movement in the predicted direction, and it detects the positions of middle points of bars as related to the mid-channel and to each other. The appearance of the red arrow indicator gives a signal to sell to the level of profit at the opposite border of the trading channel, and the appearance of the blue arrow signals the opening of the transaction for the purchase.
Trade is conducted only in the direction of the trend that is visually determined by the slope of the channel. The testing revealed another interesting feature of the ixndent parameter - it can be used to accurately calculate the opening moment. For example, open short positions when the price is above the arrow and vice versa, which provides an approximation of the opening to the point of a local extremum.
Description of the main Indicator input parameters: per (default = 3) - parameter, which is responsible for the period of construction of the shopping channel. This value must be adjusted empirically for each currency pair separately; xrate (default = 1.5) - minimum ratio. This parameter is responsible for the anti-aliasing, and the higher it is the more accurate the signals are fed to the opening position; xsize (default = 5) - the minimum height of the bar (High-Low); xslope (default = 0) - minimal increment of the next bar. Indicator input parameters: per=3; - channel building period xrate=1.5; - minimal rate xsize=5.0; - minimal bar height (High-Low) extern double xminupdn=10.0; - minimal channel width xhour1=9; - minimal hour, from which signals are allowed (inclusively) xhour2=19;- maximal hour, up to which channels are allowed (inclusively) xindent=15; - signal indent from the chart (it can be used for StopLoss, too)

PTL Perfect Trend Lines

Perfect Trend Lines (PTL) is a short-term trend trading VTL indicator.

The lines showing the trend in this indicator are not straight lines like normal trend lines. A magenta diamond shape appears when a sell signal is generated. Cyan diamond shape appears for a buy signal. The magenta line can be used as a stop loss.

The cyan line provides a tighter stop loss level. Strong downtrend bars are marked by a magenta dot at the bar high and strong uptrend bars are marked by a cyan dot at the bottom of the bar.

Brain Trend Signal Alerts Indicator

Brain Trend Signal Alerts Indicator

Brain Trend Signal Alerts is a VTL indicator that plots buy and sell signals. This indicator follows the short-term trend and it is a great intraday trading tool. This indicator identifies the trend changes using candle high lows and Average True Range.

The red arrow appears when a downtrend is identified and a green arrow appears when the trend changes upward.

For best results, Brain Trend Alerts VTL can be used together with a long term moving average like the 200-period simple moving average. Buy signals are valid when the signal is generated above the moving average and sell signals are valid when they form below the moving average.

sRSI Indicator

Sell Relative Strength Index (sRSI) is a VertexFX indicator that is based on enhanced implementation of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator.

The RSI indicator is useful in identifying the trend of the strength as well as the end of the trend. However, one of the drawbacks of the RSI is that it introduces lag.

Another drawback of RSI is that since all price changes are given equal weight the more recent price changes are not reflected quickly in the calculations.

Volatility Ratio

Volatility Ratio is a VertexFX indicator that is based on volatility and trend reversal. Volatility is a measure of fast market movements. When volatility increases the markets are moving fast and making big ranges. However, we cannot predict the direction of the market based on the volatility. The Volatility Ratio (VR) determines the direction and the end of the trend thus providing a valuable tool to traders.

STARC Bands Indicator

STARC Bands is a VertexFX VTL indicator that is used in trend trading where a range breakout is considered. STARC bands are three bands forming a channel around a simple moving average. STARC indicator is similar to Bollinger Bands but does not use standard deviations in its calculations. It is calculated by means of Average True Range (ATR) providing more detailed information on market volatility.

STARC bands are used in two modes. First one is as a trend following indicator. For this enter 1.33 for parameter KATR. Now when price breaks out of the bands, there is a high probability that price move will continue in that direction. Open positions in the breakout direction.
To use STARC bands as an oversold overbought indicator, make parameter KATR 3. Now when the price reaches the bands, chances are that it is a short-term price extreme. Countertrend trades can be opened here.
Parameters:
1. MA_Period – Moving Average Period
2. ATR_Period – Average True Range Period
3. KATR – ATR multiplier
4. Shift – Number of bars to shift forward

SuperTrend Indicator

SuperTrend is a VertexFX simplified implementation of the famous super trend indicator.

Supertrend is a very simple indicator. The Buy and Sell signal changes as soon as the indicator flips over the closing price.

Supertrend is a trending indicator, and like all trending indicators, it works well in trending markets.

However, it does give lesser false signals than a lot of other indicators. The SuperTrend indicator is calculated utilizing the ATR to offset the indicator from the price.

One of the advantages of the SuperTrend is it just moves in the direction of the trend. When the red line flips and turns green a buy signal is generated.

When the green line flips and turns red, a sell signal is generated. The signals itself can be used to open positions.

With other strategies, supertrend can be used as a trend filter. The supertrend line can also act as a trailing stop loss.

Super trend calculation:

Up = (high + low)/ 2 + multiplier x ATR
Down = (high + low) / 2 – multiplier x ATR

Where multiplier is the parameter ATR_Multiplier in the VTL script and ATR is the Average True Range.

ATR is calculated for the period determined by the parameter ATR_Period in the VTL script.

Digital Clock Script

Digital Clock Client Side VTL Script attach a clock to your chart. It can display the server time as well as the local time. When attaching to the chart, two clocks will be displayed on the chart. The golden color clock is the local time and the red color clock is Server Time.
The server clock synchronizes time with the VertexFX server every 10 seconds. The server time is the time displayed on the chart. The time on terminals bottom panel may be different depending on the GMT settings for your account.
Digital Clock displays a clock at a convenient location on the chart. It is useful to watch time before news release events etc. You don’t have to look at the bottom of the terminal or at your computers time display, it can be easily viewed on the chart. This helps in watching time side by side with the price on a chart.

Guppy Indicator

Guppy indicator is a VertexFX indicator that provides precise Buy and Sell signals for trading.

Guppy indicator is comprised of 6 Moving Averages with different periods to capture the trend over a wider spectrum.

The concept behind Guppy indicator is that when a trend is formed it must be confirmed over a range of moving averages.

When all the moving averages are moving in one direction and the price overtakes the moving average in the direction of the trend it implies that the trend is strong and confirmed.

Impuls Indicator

Impuls indicator is a VertexFX client side VTL indicator that is designed to identify inflection points where a trend speeds up or slows down.
Impuls indicator is based on two indicators: a 13-day Exponential Moving Average, that identifies the trend; the MACD-Histogram, to measures momentum (based on MACD(12,26,9)).
This unique system combination was color coded into the price bars for easy reference, giving origin to a useful indicator that combines trend following and momentum, to identify tradable market impulses.
Calculation and construction of the indicator:
When attaching this indicator to any chart, instead of two color histogram, as normally we are used to see (bullish and bearish candles), a third color will be appearing, which helps us to identify when the trend is slows down, If EMA is more than the previous EMA and MACD-Histogram is more than the previous MACD-Histogram then the corresponding price bar is colored in green (indicating bullishness). If EMA is less than the previous EMA and MACD-Histogram is less than the previous MACD-Histogram then the corresponding price bar is colored red (indicating bearishness). If the signals are mixed, then the price bar is colored by grey (indicating uncertainty).
This indicator can be used in almost all timeframes with good trading results. One method of using this, is to use 2 timeframes for signal confirmation. So if you are trading the Daily chart, if the impulse system is showing an entry, multiply your timeframe by 5 and check that chart to see if the impulse system is also showing the same entry direction. In this case, you would be using the Daily and Weekly charts. In other words, the weekly chart has to show a clear uptrend in order for a daily buy signal to be valid. On the other hand, the weekly chart has to show a clear downtrend in order for a daily sell signal to be valid. We can also use as filter an EMA-60 , where BUY orders are put above the EMA and SELL orders below the EMA.

TrendValue Indicator

TrendValue Indicator is a VertexFX Indicator that is designed to determine the trend direction and provides a trend breakout trading strategy. It consists of 2 lines, red and green. Green line is the level of support and the Red line is the resistance level.

Trading using indicator:

If indicator the is Green Place a Buy position, you can place position directly after the appearance of the green color in the indicator, but it is better to place the deal when the price touches the support level - the green line.

If the indicator line turns Red or if the price touches the resistance level (red line), place a Sell position. The basis of the indicator TrendValue are moving averages and ATR, which allows it to be more accurate in flat market. The default settings are set for M5 timeframe.

Bollinger Bands High Low

Bollinger Bands High Low (BB HL) indicator is a fine-tuned version of the Standard Bollinger Bands indicator. Bollinger Bands defines and plots an upper band and lower band within which most of the price bars are confined.
The calculation of Bollinger bands is based on a short-term moving average that determines the trend. The upper and lower bands are two standard deviations away from the base moving average. Standard Bollinger Bands uses the closing price of each candle in its calculation. In this refined Bollinger bands High Low indicator, the upper band is based on the standard deviation of candle high and lower band is based on the standard deviation of candle low, instead of the candle close used in standard Bollinger bands. This makes the indicator more responsive to price moves and extreme levels are more accurate.
Trading Strategies:
1. Bollinger Band squeeze. This might be the most common trading strategy with Bollinger bands. Bollinger band squeeze happens when the width of the band is the narrowest in recent times. This indicates a sideways trading or lack of volatility. Finally, a volatility breakout will come and the price will move in the breakout direction. This volatility breakout is identified by the expansion in bandwidth. Check the first image.
2. Reversals at Bollinger Bands. Look for candlestick reversal patterns like engulfing bars and pin bars formed at the upper or lower band. In the chart below, a bearish pin bar is formed at the upper band. Trade bearish signals forming at upper band and bullish signals forming at the lower band.

Price Action Indicator

Price Action is a Client Side VTL Indicator to display the important price action
candle stick patterns; Pin Bars, Inside Bars and Engulfing Bars.
The patterns are marked in chart by vertical lines below the candle chart in a new pane.
• Red – Pin Bars
• Green – Engulfing Bar
• Yellow – Inside Bar
The height of the vertical line shows the strength of each pattern with a scale 1 to 4.
The pattern strength is calculated based on how the pattern is formed in relation to its adjacent four bars. The higher the line the stronger the pattern. Pattern Name and whether the pattern is bullish or bearish and pattern strength is displayed in the Data Window tab of the terminal.
Trading Strategies:
Pin Bars – Pin bars usually indicate a trend reversal. When they are formed at support resistance levels, they generate strong signals. A bullish pin bar is formed at a support level and the pattern strength is 3 or 4, odds favor a price reversal. Trades can be opened above the high of the pin bar. When Bearish Pin bar is formed at resistance level and pattern strength reads 3 or 4, then the short position can be opened on a break of the low of the Pin Bar.
Engulfing Bar: Similar to Pin bars, strong Engulfing bars formed at support or resistance levels are good trading signals. Open trades on the breakout of the engulfing bar in the direction of the Engulfing Bar.
Inside Bar: Inside Bars represent consolidation. They are suitable for breakout trading. When a strong inside bar pattern is picked by the Price Action indicator, open new trades on a breakout of the mother bar.

Kaufman Volatility Indicator

Kaufman Volatility indicator is a VertexFX client-side indicator script that provides a measure of volatility and in identifying the current stage of the market.
This indicator was designed by Perry Kaufman and is used in combination with other indicators to estimate the stop-loss and volatility characteristics of the market.
When the market is in a consolidation phase, the Kaufman Volatility indicator is dropping in value. On the contrary, when the market is trending strongly (either bullish or bearish) the Kaufman Volatility indicator is rising. It does not provide us with the direction of the trend, but only the strength of the trend.
To calculate the Kaufman Volatility, we first find the absolute difference in the Close of the current candle from the previous candle.
This absolute difference is then added over the recent PERIOD bars to derive the Kaufman Volatility indicator.
The Kaufman Volatility indicator does not provide BUY or SELL signals.

BUY - This indicator does not provide BUY or SELL signals.

i-Intraday Fibonacci Indicator

i-IntradayFibonacci is a powerful VertexFX client side VTL indicator that displays the valid Fibonacci levels for the current day based on the previous day.
Fibonacci levels form important decision points for trading, as well as support and resistance levels.
A Fibonacci retracement is a popular tool among technical traders and is based on the key numbers identified by mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci in the 13th century.
In technical analysis, a Fibonacci retracement is created by taking two extreme points (usually a major peak and trough) on a stock chart and dividing the vertical distance by the key Fibonacci ratios of 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8% and 100%. Once these levels are identified, horizontal lines are drawn and used to identify possible support and resistance levels.
This indicator displays the 23.6%, 38.2%, 61.8% and the 76.4% Fibonacci levels based on the previous days range. The previous day's range (previous High minus previous Low) is calculated, and the various levels are added to the previous day's Low.
CYAN - 23.6% level from previous day's Low.

GREEN - 38.2% level from previous day's Low.

YELLOW - 61.2% level from previous day's Low.
BROWN - 76.4% from previous day's Low.

Ideally, when the price falls rises above the BROWN (76.4%) level a bullish breakout is expected and similarly, when the price falls below the CYAN (23.6%) level, a bearish breakout is expected.

This indicator can be used in conjunction with other indicators to confirm the direction of the trade.

NOTE - This indicator is applicable on H4 and lower chart time-frames. This indicator does not provide BUY or SELL signals.
